So tonight I was out walking and I noticed a cat in someone’s driveway. It was sitting very still but VERY alert. I wonder if it was hunting. I am wondering what time of day cats like to hunt for small prey (like mice, rats, birds, etc.).

Normally, when the sun goes down, nocturnal creatures begin to stir and to be active – all preparin to search for their dinner. Cats are nocturnal predators and in the wild, they become alert as soon as it becomes dark.

The best time but the best time for most predators is around sunrise and sunset often domestic cats also stalk prey without actually trying to catch it.
