I would like to get my son into hunting, squirell is the best starting point so. What gun? He has shot an adult size 12 guage 2 times but thouhgt it kicked too much. I like the 20 guage or should i get him a .22LR? 20 guage = better chance at getting squirell, .22 less kick , need better accuracy, but cant shoot out of tree just in case he misses. Help

Help I think he will get frustrated having to wait and find a squirrell on the ground with a .22. The 20 guage he can hit them off of branches and if he misses well then he doesnt have a bullet flying 2 miles down range. any thoughts on that?

Will asked:

I have a Buck knife that I use for hunting, it’s a lock back. There’s dried blood and dirt on the inside where I can’t reach. How do I clean it, and overall restore the knife’s look? It’s two ends are gold color and look stained and have fingerprints on them. I just need to know how to clean it so I can use it again.

Rohok Teyar asked:

What I mean by this is: Is there a law prohibiting the use of certain civilian firearms (Such as the HK SL8-1, or the FN FS200) while hunting? Of course, I’m talking semi-automatic weapons here, although I’m curious as to whether or not we’re allowed to use weapons that were modified to have full-auto.

Any answers that you have, with legitimate sources would be great. Or perhaps you can point me in the direction of a good website.

I am only hunting small game, mainly dove and some rabbit, and I am doing it on public WMA land. Is it important for me to wear blaze orange? I’m not sure how important it is to be “hidden” from the birds.

She knew I was an avid hunter before we got married, and she has knowingly eaten and even cooked deer meat. For some reason, now, my hunting is a problem. I’ve tried all the logical arguments, but she still gets upset when I go hunting…Help!

Someone just bought a big plot of land next to ours and is using it for hunting. The other day I was taking a walk in our woods and I heard shooting very close to the property line.
Is there anything I can do if I find out that they’re shooting towards my property? What if they start hunting ON our property? I’m not really sure what to do if I do catch them doing that, but I would like to know just in case.

How can anyone get any satisfaction from hunting animals with tricks?

I was thumbing through a sporting goods catalog recently and was slightly amused/horrified to see fake geese, a fake cow, all manner of subterfuge to make hunting animals easier. I thought the whole point of hunting was the challenge. Between canned hunts and all these silly fakes, where’s the sport?

For the record, I’m not a hunter, but hunting is legal and protected. I respect that right. And I do appreciate that someone else killed that cow I had in burger form.
